I went through a huge weight loss recently. I went from 176 pounds to 110 pounds within six months. And I did it without going crazy. I mean, at first it was difficult, especially the first month, but, afterward, it became easier and easier. Today I can say that not only I look fit but I have developed healthy habits that make my life better. However, I found out that the most difficult part to lose weight is getting started and actually committing to it. I started by raising awareness on how much food I was eating vs how much food I actually needed. So, if you are about to start a fitness journey (which I hope that, if you need it, you do) just ask yourself the following question: how many calories do i need?
For me, the answer to that question was 1200 calories a day. I was amazed because it seemed as if it was nothing. However, those were the calories I needed to lose weight. Now that I have lost weight, I can have as much as 1400 calories a day, to maintain my weight. I’m always aware of what I eat and that’s what has kept me lean after losing weight.
